Hey, We Bought a Car Tonight!

Yep we did, but it took so long I now have no time to write about it.  I have to be at work some time near six am and don't expect to be done until some time near midnight.  So I'm going to bed.

And in the morning I'm going to drive to work!

Wherein I make excuses

Whoa so I guess it's harder for me to write than I thought.  I've been keeping myself pretty busy.  We've got some big news for tomorrow night but I'm keeping that to myself until it happens, I don't want to jinx it.  I had intended to come back several times last week but it just got too hectic.  Sorry about that.

It's already late and my days have been busy so I don't have a lot of energy to write.  We're coming up to annual stock-take this weekend at work and that means I'm working til midnight or so on Friday and for a while on Saturday.  Hopefully it will involve a few extra dollars in our bank account.

Things are mostly the same here but the Biggest Loser has been replaced by master Chef as the nightly reality show.  We quite like it but the Judges are pretentious and annoying at times.  What a shocker.

I've got more to say but no time to say it tonight. So I'll sign off with a promise to come back tomorrow, hopefully with some big news.

It's for Science I swear!

For the last couple of weeks or so, every time I go to the grocery store I buy a different candy bar.  I've been hoarding them in the crisper drawer at home. I'm not really sure why I've done it but my collection is starting to get pretty impressive.  Actually there is a method to my madness.  I thought it would be fun to try them one at a time and review the ones that I've never seen in the states.  So get ready for a new regular feature around these parts.

First up is the Nestle Milo Bar. According to the package it's "Milo Choc Brownie, Smooth Caramel, Crunchy Milo Balls Smothered in Milk Chocolate."  Now I don't know about you but that sounds feakin dellish!  I mean who wouldn't be intrigued by "Crunchy Milo Balls"? Milo is some sort of chocolate thing that is a breakfast cereal and also a milk powder additive stuff like nestle quick I think.  I'm not really sure and I think you need to grow up with it to really understand it.

After unwrapping it and finding out that I am not a winner (DOH!), I took a look at the bar.  Doesn't look like much I admit.  It's pretty normal for a candy bar.  (one note, I'm really not concerned with calories or anything like that, I'm just here to talk about how much I like or dislike these candies.)  Pretty smooth and unremarkable.  I wasn't sure how to go about getting a shot of the inside for you, and decided that cutting with a knife might get you the best look at the inside.

Now I have to say, this may not look like much, but this is a great candy.  The brownie is nice and the Crunchy Milo Balls (whatever) are really great.  You can make them out I think sort of floating on the top of the brownie.  Thumbs up!

I got started late tonight so that's all I got.  Leah is forced to use my computer again this week because hers is acting up again.  She's got an appointment at the Apple store to get it looked at but I am kind of pessimistic about the prognosis.  We may be in the market for a new lappy for her sooner rather than later.

My walk home from work has gotten a little more interesting in the last couple of days (well I'm not sure how interesting it will be to anyone but me)  Perhaps I'll talk about that some more tomorrow.

See ya tomorrow.

Blog? I've got a Blog?

Yeah yeah yeah, I know, the bloody blog isn't going to write itself. Though at this point it probably could;  "This morning I got up at 5:30 and went to work, then I came home at 6pm and ate supper and then went to bed." Lather, Rinse, Repeat ad nauseum....

But I'm not that shallow.  And actually I am sorry that I've left you guys hanging for so long.  I just needed to let this thing breathe for a while.  I've missed it I really have.

Good news on the work front.  My day now ends an hour earlier and that means I'm home at five instead of six. It really makes a difference especially now since it's getting dark by six.  Just in time for you guys to be getting spring flowers, we're smack in the middle of fall.  Well, what passes for fall here anyway.  The weather has been pretty fantastic and the nights nice and cool.  I'm starting to see people wearing more clothing and actually a few coats are coming out of closets.  It's kind of hilarious to me though, since I feel like I'm on the brink of sweating at all times.  Winter in Brisbane doesn't have me scared at all.

I've bee trying to think of a few topics that will be of interest, so thanks again for sticking with me.  I promise to keep writing if you'll keep reading, and I'll never drop away for three weeks like that without warning again. I just may not always have something interesting to say.

Here is a sneak peak at a few of the things I've got for you in the near future.

Now hows that for a tease?
