It's for Science I swear!

For the last couple of weeks or so, every time I go to the grocery store I buy a different candy bar.  I've been hoarding them in the crisper drawer at home. I'm not really sure why I've done it but my collection is starting to get pretty impressive.  Actually there is a method to my madness.  I thought it would be fun to try them one at a time and review the ones that I've never seen in the states.  So get ready for a new regular feature around these parts.

First up is the Nestle Milo Bar. According to the package it's "Milo Choc Brownie, Smooth Caramel, Crunchy Milo Balls Smothered in Milk Chocolate."  Now I don't know about you but that sounds feakin dellish!  I mean who wouldn't be intrigued by "Crunchy Milo Balls"? Milo is some sort of chocolate thing that is a breakfast cereal and also a milk powder additive stuff like nestle quick I think.  I'm not really sure and I think you need to grow up with it to really understand it.

After unwrapping it and finding out that I am not a winner (DOH!), I took a look at the bar.  Doesn't look like much I admit.  It's pretty normal for a candy bar.  (one note, I'm really not concerned with calories or anything like that, I'm just here to talk about how much I like or dislike these candies.)  Pretty smooth and unremarkable.  I wasn't sure how to go about getting a shot of the inside for you, and decided that cutting with a knife might get you the best look at the inside.

Now I have to say, this may not look like much, but this is a great candy.  The brownie is nice and the Crunchy Milo Balls (whatever) are really great.  You can make them out I think sort of floating on the top of the brownie.  Thumbs up!

I got started late tonight so that's all I got.  Leah is forced to use my computer again this week because hers is acting up again.  She's got an appointment at the Apple store to get it looked at but I am kind of pessimistic about the prognosis.  We may be in the market for a new lappy for her sooner rather than later.

My walk home from work has gotten a little more interesting in the last couple of days (well I'm not sure how interesting it will be to anyone but me)  Perhaps I'll talk about that some more tomorrow.

See ya tomorrow.

  1. You'll have to get yourself a jar of milo, we used to sprinkle it on ice cream when we were kids, or you have a nice cup of hot milo before going to bed, just dissolve in a bit of hot water, then add hot milk.
